We thank God for the distance He has brought us and for allowing us this hour to reminisce and reflect on the history of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. As we stop for a moment and the Hands of Time are turned back and we look back over our lives as we refresh our memories of God’s Grace and Goodness, of His Love and Mercy and the Power of the Holy Spirit, we give Him thanks and praises for another Day’s Journey.
Under the leadership of Rev. Idelphia J. Salley, Jesus continued to bless this church. The Fellowship Hall was renovated and the kitchen was added. Covering for the Pulpit chairs were made and the Pulpit scars and Communion Table cloth were purchased.
The Stewardship Committee and the Young Adult Choir was organized. Dea. Albert Mack and Dea. Robert Palmer was ordained as deacons. On May 25, 1997 Dea. Albert Mack became a License Minister under the administration of Rev. Salley.
In September 1999 the Rev. Joe McNeil became a full pledge member of Trinity Baptist Church. In January 2000, due to illness, Rev. Sally retired from her position as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church and by God’s Grace Rev. McNeil became Interim Pastor.
On Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000 Rev. McNeil Installation Service was held at TMBC. Rev. Alfred Williams, Moderator, Rev. Nathaniel Robinson, Sr. Vice Moderator and the New Ashley Missionary Baptist Association conducted those services. He was a pastor with a vision from the Almighty and this church, continued to be blessed.
Rev. McNeil organized a Budget Committee and re-organized the Finance Committee. A set of By-Laws for the church were written and adopted by the Deacon Ministry and the church body.
Bro. Lamar Haynes and the Late Sis. Betty Shaw completed the paper work granting the church the status of a Non-Profit Organization. On Dec. 29, 2000 the church received its official documentation as a Non-Profit Organization, thus paving the way for it to apply for the 501-C-3 Federal Tax Exempt Status.
Trinity became a part of the Low-Country Food-Bank Ministry and served as a site to distribute food to the community.
In June 2002 under the leadership of Pastor McNeil the church stepped out on faith with God’s blessing and purchased the adjacent 3.14 acres of property. In May 2009 a 15 year Mortgage was paid in full in seven years (7 yrs.) and eleven (11) months. Thus the Mortgage Burning Ceremony on the 3.14 Acres of property was held.
In February 2003, Min. Matthew Wimbush was licensed to preach the gospel.
In 2006 the church was blessed with an Industrial Stainless Steel Range, Refrigerator, and the installation of new carpet in the Fellowship Hall. Road signs and “Caution Signs were purchased for the church.
Under Sis. Dorothy Whack, presidency the Deaconess Ministry worked faithfully to purchase a “Big-Screen T.V. “for the Fellowship Hall.
In July 26, 2006 Pastor McNeil, organized a Fundraising Committee to raise additional funds to support the “124th Church Anniversary”. Dea. Robert Palmer and Dea. Thomas Lanier was appointed as Chair and Co-Chair.
Throughout the years God has shown favor and added to His church membership. In February 2008 fifteen (15) Baptism robes were purchased for candidates desiring to be baptized and become disciples for Christ. In 2009 a Baptism Robe for the Pastor and the Deacon assisting with Baptism were purchased.
In March 2008 through the leadership of Rev. McNeil and the Deacon Ministry along with the support of our members Trinity host it’s “First Church Rally”. It was a great success.
On May 25, 2009 Dea. Kenneth Froisy, Dea, Darin Nay and Dea. John Myers was Ordained as Deacons and their wives as Deaconess.
In October 2009 Sis. Deneen Moore took leadership in hosting the first “Veteran Day Recognition Service” honoring all military personnel who have served our country.
In November 2009, TMBC YWA Ministry was organized with Sis. Deneen Moore serving as president.
Trinity’s Gospel Choir was organized and the Male Choir was re-organized.
During the months of June and July 2010 the adjacent Parking Lot was paved, the landscaping and Two Security Lights added an extra touch to the appearance of the parking lot.
The Sanctuary received a Fresh-Coat of paint in August 2010.
In 2010 Sis. Deneen Moore used her skills in technology to get TMBC Online, with an E-mail and Website.
In July 2011 TMBC purchased a new computer system to handle the church financial and tithing reports and membership information. New printers were also purchased.
In July 2011 a new roof was installed.
